Welcome to Cake!

The Gerontology Association of Nova Scotia (GANS) is pleased to launch its newest endeavor:

The Community on Aging Knowledge Exchange (CAKE).

In the coming months, we hope to build this site into a relevant and interactive source of information for and about seniors in Nova Scotia and beyond. Included will be links to resources in various categories, including seniors’ resources and news, research news and highlights, and links to various organizations involved with seniors. We will also be building a members forum where you can interact with other CAKE visitors.

Our target audience for this site is anyone with an interest in aging including (but certainly not limited to) gerontology students, allied health professionals, researchers, nurses, physicians, community members and older Nova Scotians themselves.

GANS: The Gerontology Association of Nova Scotia, established in 1977, is a voluntary organization whose members are individuals, families and organizations throughout Nova Scotia who have an expressed interest in older Nova Scotians. Through the support and participation of its members, the Association consults with government, organizations and individuals, provides networking and educational opportunities locally and provincially, supports gerontological research within the province, and fosters communication and positive working relationships between professionals and organizations.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or inquiries.
