About GANS
The Gerontology Association of Nova Scotia (GANS) brings you The Community on Aging Knowledge Exchange (CAKE).
This site is intended to be a relevant and interactive source of information for and about issues around ageing in Nova Scotia and beyond.
We will soon be launching a members forum, where you can network with and meet colleagues and friends, old and new.
Our target audience for this site is anyone with an interest in aging including (but certainly not limited to) gerontology students, allied health professionals, researchers, nurses, physicians, community members and older Nova Scotians themselves.
The Gerontology Association of Nova Scotia (GANS), established in 1977, is a voluntary organization whose members are individuals, families and organizations throughout Nova Scotia who have an expressed interest in the issues of ageing and older Nova Scotians. Through the support and participation of its members, the Association consults with government, organizations and individuals, provides networking and educational opportunities locally and provincially, supports gerontological research within the province, and fosters communication and positive working relationships between professionals and organizations.
