Digby hosts its first 50+ Expo this Saturday.

Digby County will be holding its first ever 50+ Expo this Saturday at Digby Regional High School from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Organized by Dawn Thomas from the Digby RCMP detachment, the event  will have many activites as well as a free lunch. 50plus

“Thomas has invited exhibitors to set up booths to address a wide variety of issues, including personal response buttons, counterfeit money demonstrations, emergency preparedness, the provincial Department of Seniors, Caregivers Nova Scotia, The Pines Spa, Reiki specialist, falls prevention, and Juniper House. Traditional Chinese acupuncturist Jo Kubinec brings fun to reading your palm in a booth as well and the local library will bring the Wii machine, Thomas said. Those taking part can choose between four half-hour workshops before and after lunch, which is free. Workshop options include helping feet last a lifetime, ask a pharmacist for advice, self-defense for adults and the joy of aging. Demonstrations will also be held in t’ai chi, square dancing and bagpipes. There will also be some information for people concerned about swine flu, or H1N1, which may be most dangerous for the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. ”

Registration takes place  on Saturday at 10 a.m. but registration forms can be picked up at Pharmasave, Bear River Health Clinic, Weymouth Drug Store and the RCMP  Detachment.
