There is indeed a desperate need for more geriatric consideration in NS and indeed the world. Our society confuses the issue by lumping seniors together and promulgating commercial ads for 50+. Seniorhood doesn't start until 70 -75 and is an attitude/behaviour acceptance criterion! Personally I'm 75 and have lost two younger partners/ potential care-givers to cancer; and am just now realising that 'things are not how they used to be'. These programs are designed to optimizes health benefits for specfic health conditions. I teach throughout Cape Breton Island. There is also Janice Webber based in Halifax who offers these programs.
